Beta text. Simmer is in a public beta, and this page will be reviewed and updated before the full launch.
Simmer is run by THE REACHED s.r.o., Senec, Slovakia (the "operator", "we"). This page explains what we store about you while you play, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we store
We keep as little as the game needs:
- A random player ID, created when you open the game. You can play without an account.
- Your game history: the puzzles you played, your guesses with their temperatures, hints used, whether you solved or gave up, and when.
- If you save your progress: your email address. With Google sign-in, also the name, email address and profile picture link that Google shares with us. We never get your Google password.
- If you turn on daily reminders: the time you picked and a push address from your browser's push service (run by Google, Apple or Mozilla), used only to send that reminder and test notifications you ask for.
- If you buy Simmer Pro: a customer and subscription reference from Paddle, your plan, its status and its dates. We never see your card or bank details.
- If you use groups: the display name and emoji you choose, and which groups you belong to. Other members of a group see your display name, emoji, streak and your result for the day, never your guessed words.
- Technical data needed to run the service, such as server logs with your IP address, kept for a short time by our hosting providers.
Why
To run the game you asked to play: score your guesses, keep your board and streak, let you continue on another device, and show group leaderboards. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data for marketing.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in (your player session). Your browser may also store small settings for the game. There are no advertising or tracking cookies during the beta.
Who processes it for us
These providers process data on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and sign-in. Data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Vercel: hosts the website. Pages are delivered through its global network; the game's server code runs in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla): only if you turn on reminders. They deliver the notification to your device.
Payments
Simmer Pro is sold by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment and billing details and handles taxes, invoices and refunds as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.
How long
We keep your data while you use Simmer. Guest players who never save their progress may be deleted after a long period without play. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion, and you can object to how we use it. Write to hello@thereached.com from the email address of your account (or tell us your player name if you only play as a guest). You can also complain to the Slovak data protection authority (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky).
